Mine's gota be Tony Royster Jr.'s solo when he was 12, the one all over youtube. Although it's one of the most famous, it never fails to astound me just because of his age. An I learnt quite abit from it

Re: What is your fav drum solo and by whom.
Although i love playing drums i'm not really into specific drummers and certainly not 'drummers drummers'. Nothing spoils a good gig like a drum solo!!
Similarly i used to play guitar (in the dark times!!) and was never really into 'Guitar Gods'.

I must agree with you on that
I'm not one for solo's, they're just an excuse for everyone to go to the bar
Which is a point
Is there a bar at the event?

Drum Solo
At the moment I would say it is any number of the lovely little solo/fills done by Gavin Harrison, and some solo's I've seen of him at clinics. The man is a Genius!

He is the drummer for Porcupine Tree, and is also drumming for King Crimson at the mo. Check him out on Youtube, awesome!

Has anyone seen the dvd of the Buddy Rich tribute concert?
Sweet Jesus....its was amazing
I'm suprised no one has mentioned Keith Moon (The Who)?
His solos are were awsome - "Wont get fooled again" was one of my all time favourites.

Re: What is your fav drum solo and by whom.
my favorite drummer was Speedy Jones, he was the guy Buddy Rich wouldn't dare do battle with believe me, He was unnatural
Re: What is your fav drum solo and by whom.
Neil Peart in 'Working Man' from Rush's live album 'All The World's A Stage'.
I'm not really a Rush fan and I know there's better than this out there but at the time I heard it I thought it was awesome. I still love it and NP as a true Buddy Rich disciple is always technically brilliant.

Ha ha! That would be amazing as my "guest" is driving me to and from Birmingham (thanks Dad ).
Maybe we could break a record for the 'Worlds most drunken drummers in one place'.
