Hi Rob

Welcome to the Forum!!

Details are still being thrashed out at the moment but don't worry we'll play all kinds of stuff.

We'll start everyone playing at 1 ish (hopefully) something nice and simple. We'll introduce the conductor and get everyone playing along under his/her instruction. We'll start easy and build up the beats.

WE also have Jo Jo mayer, Jason Bitner and Karl brazil doing some demo slots to give you a break and inspire you on!!

We also have some other guest drummers coming onto do a drum battle at some point. But mainly it's aboput getting the 600 drummers playing together.

If you have any suggestions as to what you'd like us all playing This is the place to let us know your thoughts.

Post clips of yourself on you tube and show us what you've got.

As for wat to do, off the top of my head:-

A drumming version of a Mexican wave, be great if recorded in surround sound

If we have a band to help out

How many drummers playing one kit during one song (hot seating)

Name that kit! just for those officianado's that claim to be able to identify a kit purely by sound

or Name that drummer



For the record, I haven't played an arena before, my biggest stage ahs been a festival with 6k capacity, shame they weren't all there when I did my bit

and a 2 thousand seater as part of a larger drum band

Played on the back of a Robinsons brewery dray in in the early 90's parading through Stockport town centre ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!. sadly no footage of that one.

You can have this though one back from my days with long hair. Wild Bill Haye and the Bailers live at Stockports Edgerton arms circa 1989 ish

I will be going. playing my old premier Olympic Kit. Biggest gig before this was a few years ago playing on the Mercia Radio sound stage in Warwick town centre at Christmas. playing a few Christmas songs and all that. a few hundred people watching, good response!!!

Hey all, I'm really looking forward to the day- will be great being around so many other drummers, and seeing so many "real" kit setups, rather than shop setups!

Hi everyone

Holly and myself will be there from Saturday, anyone know of any good hotels within the area. If anyone can help, it would be most appreciated, and not too far from the NIA, as Holly will be on crutches and me with a walking stick, what a right pair eh!

Never thought I'd get the opportunity to play a venue such as the NIA and for such a worthy cause too. I'm getting really excited now and looking forward to meeting all the crazy folks from the MD Forum.
